Experience

Education
Graduated with a BFA in Communication Design from SUNY Buffalo. Honestly, I feel like everything I know now I've learned through real world experience/self-learning, but I got the piece of paper so I should probably mention it.
Tools
Figma is the love of my life, but I'm also proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite if the need ever arises. I also love to use tools like Webflow, UserTesting, Fullstory, Heap, Sigma, and Optimizely in my practice. You name it, I've probably tinkered with it because I can't help myself.

More newly I am on a claude code journey, getting ahead of thinking beyond static prototypes as design tool in the future.

Teachable

Head of product experience
Sep 2024 – Present
Stepped into a broader leadership role focused on big-picture product direction for Teachable, tackling cross-functional problems, and strengthening the end-to-end customer experience across the full lifecycle.
Helped reset our north star
Co-led a refreshed company-level product vision with the Head of Product. Aligned the board, parent company, and internal teams around a clear direction for Teachable.
Made the vision real
Created and launched Thrive, a customer-facing product vision that connected long-term strategy to near-term roadmap decisions.
Built accountability into customer feedback
Launched a product on-call program where team members directly responded to Trustpilot review escalations, creating stronger accountability and tighter feedback loops. Led to an increase in resolved bug tickets and a +28% YoY TrustScore improvement.
Stepped in to fix cross-functional gaps
Took on additional scope across PMM and Support to help reset processes, strengthen feedback loops, and create tighter connections between customer insight, go-to-market, and product decisions.
Director of Product Design
Aug 2022 – Aug 2024
Took over the end-to-end product design function, leading design and user research across 9 product pods. I focused on strengthening how designers planned work, partnered cross-functionally, and connected discovery to delivery, while investing deeply in team career growth.
Scaled the design org
Managed 9 product designers across 9 distinct product areas and scaled the org to include a design manager layer reporting into me. Built a leveling framework and growth paths that supported multiple promotions and improved team retention.
Built empathy programming
Built and launched a Voice of the Customer program that brought customer signal into planning and prioritization.
Introduced design planning rituals
Improved how teams balanced discovery and delivery through clearer planning practices and repeatable decision-making rhythms.
Staff Product Designer (Money)
Jun 2021 – Aug 2022
Stepped into an IC role and spent a year drinking from the firehose to learn Teachable’s product, customers (and their customers),and business model. Focused on core commerce and monetization experiences that directly shaped how customers priced, sold, and scaled their businesses on Teachable. Along the way, I strengthened cross-functional partnerships and improved how the commerce team used data, experimentation, and customer insight to inform decisions.
Delivered core commerce experiences
Shipped a smorgasbord of initiatives including tax-inclusive pricing, enrollment caps & urgency drivers, student referrals, and a revamped affiliate program.
Brought data into the design process
Operationalized tools like FullStory and Pendo to improve visibility into product behavior and launch performance. Built on that foundation to advocate for more robust (and democratized) product analytics capabilities.
Rebuilt commerce design infrastructure
Consolidated fragmented commerce design assets into a component-driven documentation hub that improved consistency and velocity.

Commonbond

Director of Product Design
Jul 2019 – Jun 2021
Led product design across CommonBond’s refinance experience, focused on improving conversion, clarity, and customer trust in a highly regulated space.
Redesigned refi
Led an end-to-end overhaul of the refinance application, driving a 49.6% lift in same-day SCPA → HCPA conversion (and left refi conversion at an all-time high).
Built a dev-first design system
Launched a developer first component system that improved speed, consistency, and scalability across product initiatives, strengthening collaboration between design and engineering.
Shaped our next big bet
Led a 0→1 product discovery program to help determine the strategic direction for a new financial product.
Design Lead
May 2018 – Jun 2019
Leveraged a full rebrand to build end-to-end product context, touching every major surface and turning that understanding into scalable design systems used across product and core customer flows.
Survived an in-house rebrand
Led the creation of a rebranded digital design system and product marketing website, and scaled that system to all of our apps... in two months. Built a component-driven Webflow marketing system that increased team velocity and reduced engineering bottlenecks.
Expanded borrower optionality
Designed and shipped CommonBond’s first third-party refinance integration with Credible, including MVP experimentation, opt-in flows, and decline-path routing. Balanced borrower experience with underwriting and business constraints.

Velocidi

Senior product designer
Apr 2015 – Apr 2017
Part of the core team navigating Velocidi’s shift from agency-style delivery into a B2B SaaS product. Focused on turning repeated client problems into scalable, data-heavy product experiences that supported reporting and decision-making.
Navigated the pivot
Worked through the transition from bespoke client work to a productized SaaS platform, helping translate recurring patterns into repeatable UX rather than one-off solutions.
Designed for messy data
Designed workflows that helped advertisers and analysts import, clean, and harmonize fragmented data, making complex systems easier to understand and act on.
Product designer
Apr 2013 – Jun 2015
Joined Velocidi during its agency era, designing and shipping a wide range of client projects across websites, web apps, and iOS.
Started my journey with user research.
We were building full drag and drop CMS solutions for clients. A website is as much a product for those maintaining it, as it is for the end user. Because we needed to take time to understand the workflows we were designing for, user interviews became a crucial part of my practice.
Shifted to modular design.
Research surfaced a clear pattern: rigid templates didn’t hold up in real workflows. I shifted toward modular building blocks, which became the foundation of how I think about component systems.

T-mark international

UX/UI designer
Jun 2011 – Oct 2012
Fresh out of college, this role was my crash course in how websites get built. Worked closely with local and international development teams to design and deliver desktop and mobile web experiences in an era before responsive design was the norm.
Built real front-end fluency
Contributed low-level HTML/CSS on every project, developing a strong understanding of how interfaces are built, not just how they look. I look back on this era fondly because learning front-end fundamentals early gave me a lasting edge in how I design, communicate, and partner with engineers.
Learned the art of handoff
Designed pixel-perfect interfaces in Photoshop and created detailed spec layers by hand to document spacing, sizing, and layout, which trained me to be precise and unambiguous in how I communicated design intent.
